A simplified procedure of development and approval of project documentation for construction in the historic residential areas. The relevant draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On amendments to the procedure for the definition of borders and modes of use of historical areas of settlements, restrictions of economic activity on the territory of historical areas of settlements" was approved at the Government meeting on 21 February.
The project abolished the need for the development of historical and urban studies (HUS) those in historically populated areas, where in accordance with an established procedure developed and approved by the historical-architectural basic plans. And from 1 January 2019, the Institute abolished altogether, HUS. All project documentation for new construction and historically populated areas should be developed only in accordance with the historical-architectural basic plans.
